Meet Bill Keeler
“There is no such thing as selling.”

Bill’s Story
First and foremost, thanks for being here. I’m both delighted and honored you’ve chosen to spend some of your valuable time exploring my work, and so by default, with me. I’ve been told I’m a surprise as a Sales Coach because my fundamental belief is that selling doesn’t actually exist…only buying happens. That makes me a professional sales guy that doesn’t believe in selling. Weird, I know.
But I do believe in people, the power and joy that comes from being in something together, and the value of locally owned companies and their people thriving. I got that from working for my uncle’s company right out of college and seeing my dad work as a business owner for some years…the ones he missed my little league games and Field Day events. Those personal experiences shaped my desire to work with the clientele I’ve always served. In my three plus decades working with small and mid-sized companies all over the US I’ve come to inalterably believe that people don’t want to be sold, they want to be served. And selling isn’t what creates sales…only buying does.
This perspective has informed my work as an account executive, Director of Sales, Business Coach and Business Development Coach, and business owner.
It influences the clients I work with, and what ultimately led me to write “There’s No Such Thing As Selling.” So I developed some ideas and models with the hope of offering something different for people who are in our shared work. With a BA in Business Economics and an MBA, I try to bring practical business knowledge combined with human experience to help people be their best and most authentic selves in the profound act and art of developing business.
On a personal note, I grew up in a small town in Maryland outside the DC Beltway and spent the greater part of my life living in Richmond, Virginia. I’m a dog lover, decent golfer depending on the day, music freak, whisky snob, guitar player and lead singer, bar band guy, musician with three albums of original music on Spotify, and now a published author. I’m guilty of being compassionate and empathetic, but also direct and a bit intense. Qualities I think have served me as a coach. And I love to challenge the norm and help others do the same. How boring would life be to just accept things as they are? And my story wouldn’t be complete without sharing my dedication and appreciation for my Love, Robin.
